It shouldn't. It would make things more challenging and your COs would expect more out you. But it shouldn't effect trying out. I do believe you have to go to another school though for more training. But if that is what you want it will happen because Ranger School besides being? wonderfully difficult teaches excellent leadership.

I have lost best friends in combat, and have seen peoples brains and guts strewn everywhere. War is not pretty. Gangs are not pretty. But I know what I am fighting for, and believe in every bit of it. .

Because a-lot of their missions? are "hush hush". When I got to workout with 5 members of them, two of them were still "in" u know.. and they had to wear masks and sunglasses to hide their identity. Their uniform name tags only had numbers, which I thought was weird.

Rangers. Trust me. I've known high-school JROTC cadets who could run through Marine bootcamp like a walk in the park. Even 9th graders like? Patch. He could pop out CORRECT 120 plus military pushups and 110 sit-ups under 4 minutes then get up and run 5 to 10 miles like nothing. And continue to workout hard for 3 to even 3 days.
Marines have nothing on the Rangers.

You can sign up to be a Ranger and go through it or try and get a slot? for the school, which isn't easy. As I've stated before Ranger school is one test, being a Ranger is much harder....it's everyday.

@MarinesLinguist1 A Marine is physically trained harder because of their job. The Marine Corps is made of amphibious combatants and therefore the physical stress is harder during their recruit training. Now, let's talk about mental toughness. It'd take the same mental toughness to get through a challenging military course of ANY kind. The Marine Corps is filled with? fine warriors, as is SOCOM (Rangers, Green Berets, SEALs, AF Special Tactics, etc.). All hard-trained warriors deserve respect.

@bcjones60 if you go ROTC you will likely not get a contract, unless you have an amazing college GPA (which is a whole lot different than high school) and amazing PT score (aim for a >250 on the APFT before ROTC)
I may be biased, as I was an ROTC dropout and? I'm now enlisting, but the Army is scaling down their officers. And barely anyone (only 2 a year out of 100 cadets) got the full scholarship. And only about a quarter or less get the contract (No contract = (objectively) *wasted* time)
